Recently got back from a great weekend in Mammoth/Sierras.
got in Last Friday at 11 am hit Convict lake at about 12 we hiked about a half a mile to the left of the lake. The water was clear as glass. I didnt even have my reels spooled. (Rookie mistake :\ ) as soon as we got there my buddies started tossing jigs while i was spooling up.
After about 10 mins i had one rod spooled and started fishing.
my first lure of choice was an F5 Frog pattern flatfish.
First cast.......nothing medium retrieve
second cast....nothing same speed
moved to a better vantage point.
Cast....BAM!!! FISH ON!!!!
after a good 3 minute battle...reeled in a 5 pound trout.
i have pics but dnt know how to post from a tablet.
I was fishing with 4 lb test ultra light rod n reel...caught 2 others that day nice lil pan sized keepers...+ 2 catch and release..
