Hello.... New to forum

Thought I'd drop a few lines and say hello. I live in south east Ohio, and I'm just getting back into fishing after being away for many, many years.

I've got a friend that's into kayak fishing. A couple weeks ago he picked up a nice used creek company LT pontoon. Next thing you know I'm bringing it home with me.
So I'm going to blame all this on him

I'm in the process of mounting a front rod holder and two rears that I'm making out of PVC, and a nice padded seat on a swivel that my friend also had from his old canoe. Next will be a anchor system, and of course a cup holder.

I hope to have it on the water in the next week or so for a test run. If all goes well the toon will be going on vacation with me next month for some fishing around Crystal River Florida, on the gulf side.
I'll post some pics throughout the summer, with a few YouTube vids.

I'm looking forward to all the information, and stories on this forum.
I can see this getting addictive

Welcome. I too took a break from fishing and recently go back into it about 6 months ago. Learning a lot from here about tubing and fishing for certain fish.

Hey there Buckeye-toon welcome to the forum we are looking for word to seeing all your work on your new ride. Be sure to share your fishing ventures and pictures as well, I am sure you will find yourself right at home here with the FTFF.

One of the worst things I did was start back fishing after several decades hiatus.
I'm at a point now where, if it isn't fishing, I'm not interested.
The garden still awaits planting.
The trimming is an after thought.
The grass is cut only out of desperation.
The house needs painting.
The plumbing needs repair.
The shed I had planned still isn't started.

My wife talks about improvements and home projects and I'm like, " That's nice, dear"... and turn back to tying leaders.
I've taken the back seats out of my vehicle to make room for my tube. Who needs passengers, anyway?
Going away from the house now has only one true purpose - fishing. Anything else is a waste of precious time.

Be careful, friend. Be very careful.
And keep blaming your friend.

You can take fish out of the bay.
You can take fishing out of the fishing spot.
BUT...you can never take fish out of the Fisherman!

Welcome. I am also new to the club. This place is full of great advice. I would read some of the modification threads, catman1979 has a modification journal that was very helpful to me. I just got my colorado pontoon, and am thinking about what I can do with it. Ask questions. Lots of ways to save money by do it yourself mods.
