Rumors are flying that DVL may allow float tubes this winter. Anyone have knowledge of this?

I have not heard anything like that. But I have seen the biggest rattlesnake of my life swimming there.

There was a Proposed bill by State Senator Jeff Stone to the water district in March to allow Water Activities Swimming , Skiing , Wake Boarding and Float tubes at DVL and it was quickly shot down .

3 main Reason :
- DVL will remain a clean and reliable source of water to the county
- It would bring a negative impact to the lake in the form of boaters , waste , etc
- the cost of changing the operation for the city would not be worth the income generated (shore access , restrooms , camping etc)

As a Tuber I am Glad that this change will never take effect , DVL is really the only true fishery we have left in So-cal . and a heck of a chore to figure out . its a great lake and will remain as is !
