Went camping at cachuma lake this weekend and rented a boat to go fish down by the dam. We caught two 3LB trout off a jig meant for crappie. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Nice catch man! I used to fish Cachuma quite often as a kid. The dam is the best for nice trout for sure. We used to kill it on Velveeta cheese. How low was the water level? I heard that Arrowhead Island isn't even an island anymore, but more like an extension of the shoreline or a peninsula of sorts. Is that true? Attached is a pic of me years ago with one of the two bass I caught that morning in Johnson's Bay out of Lake Cachuma.

We have an SOP/instructions some where around on how to post pics. It does appear to need an update. The steps are the same but the view is a little different.
Here is a link to one way.

Yeah I saw that. Read it again for good measure. I'd like to think I'm tech savvy but maybe not so much. Oh well. I'll make it my avatar someday. I figured that part out. Maybe when I reach bobber status I'll have it down.

Absolutely Jeff. I still have that hellbender lure that my great grandpa gave me. I don't dare fish with it anymore. I just keep it in my box for good luck. Thumbs Up

The water level was only at around 13 percent full & yes that is true. Still a nice place to go tho.
