The forum is changing Free - Advance - Premium levels

So, everyone, this free forum can stay free but they are starting to move to a paid platform as well.  The free version will work but we will lose bandwidth and some storage.  This in time will affect our posting of pictures and content.  I have posted a picture of what they are going to move to as far as yearly costs to run with more space and extra features.

The first issue I ran into we can only send out 2 Newsletters a Month and at this time I have to wait till the 24th to send out a message.  The top package gives us the ability to send out 8 messages a month which is more then we need and the Lower package gives us 4 a month.  The Premium package will give us better ad control and more ability to customizer our newsletters.

Like anything with an upgrade to the top level gives you the most and I am thinking we should look at moving to the Premium level.  I am looking to our members for some support in this please let me know what you think and if you are ok with this I have attached a PayPal link for a donation.  The good this is this comes to about $10 a month to move to that Premium level and we can pay upfront for 2 months free.  I encourage some conversations and again if you are comfortable with donations the link is there.  Thanks, everyone.

3600 credits = Dollars ?

Yep, I am working to understand the conversion rate waiting to hear back from forumation.

It looks like we might be at $90 to maybe $120 USD annually to move up to the Advance and Premium levels. That really is not bad at all, of course, free is better but I am kind of surprised it is not more.

OK so formation is saying it comes to about 60 per USD $1 and for the Advance we about $60 to make that move and for Premium we would need about $100. The Premium is the better value and the Advance would be a good move as well.

As I mentioned the forum is changing there was a charger for keeping our storage space which allows us to add content (Messages, and Photo's). The free version is there still but it does not allow us to increase space, we would be locked into what we have and that would quickly run out. Moving up at $60 to $100 a year would be and easy fix. What does everyone think?

Pay forums are nothing new.

I had nearly 35000 members for a VBulletin scuba forum I owned and ran for years. Generally pay = no ads (except sponsor banners) and increased photo storage, badging for members, and other perks, etc.

I have no issue supporting forums I belong to.

I would be willing to support a "no banner forum" with only our sponsor's banners for more overall control of our FTFF site.  

So, what you are saying is that we need to collect $100 in donations in order to make this "no banner forum" happen?
How much $ would that come to per active member?

Per active member i am not sure only a $1 or $2 i would assume.  If we made it a sign up fre yearly it would be pennies LOL.

Please explain to me what a No Banner means............no ads outside of our own sponsors? I can understand that as we grow we would need more storage..........so $100 a month or are we talking a year? I would think $1200 a year. Clarification for an ole fart who is not to computer savvy............GT

So some clarification for the Ole Fart, it is $100 a year which I think is pretty fair. It would be for the increase in space, and the No Banners other then our sponsors would be a plus. Another point is now we can only send out one Newsletter a month. For the $100 we can send out 8 per month.

Here's a thought,

Can we donate to the FTFF operating fund and then you can re-direct that money needed to pay towards the Premium level?

I don't mind donating to worthy causes but I'm also always looking for tax write-offs as well. lol

If you can help me understand how to do this I am in just outside my wheelhouse. If I can do this without being a business I am happy to do. If I need to be a business we are working on that now and hope to have that up and running by next month possible.

Thanks, everyone for the support so far we are about $50 away now. I am waiting for the 28th to be able to send out a newsletter to reach everyone else. After the 28th I can post 2 newsletters but with an upgrade, we can do more and have fewer restrictions.
