3 month fishing trip

Just returned from a 3 month fishing trip in the east sierras. Stayed in Bridgeport at Willow Springs RV Park. Fished many lakes in the area out of my Colorado pontoon float tube as well flyfishing numerous creeks and rivers. Caught many, many fish. Rainbows,browns and brookies.I am planning an identical trip next summer. My go to baits in the tube were mice tails and pinched crawlers. Flyfishing b aits were wooley buggers , caddis drys and parachute flys. This year I bought a Garmin fishfinder that was fantastic for locating fishing depths. Would like to hear from others who have done or are planning similar trips.

3 months man that is a great trip right there, I am married with children so the chances of that happening are slim to none That is way cool though thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum, when you have a chance try to post some pictures we would like to see some of this trip.

Sounds amazing, Did you catch any Sacramento Perch on the fly? And of course, did you catch any golden trout?

Three months in the East Sierras. Nice way to enjoy the outdoors.

Same here. I would love to do a long trip like that. I think I would loose my wife in the process. I would be up for a 4 or 5 day trip any time next year. The trout count is suppose to be much better next year due to the higher fish count of the DFG.

Thanks for the replies. Only caught rainbows, browns and brook trout. Total fish caught in excess of 300. Landed 3 over 5 lbs and 4 over 4 lbs. Caught 2 tagged trout which qualifies me for free entry in the trout tournament at Kens in Bridgeport next June. Highly recommend big and little Virginia lakes. Caught the majority of all my fish from there. Was catching from 7 to over 20 fish a day. Am a former bass fisherman so I practice catch and release whenever possible. Other good lakes were Bridgeport Res, lower Twin Lake , Gull and Rock Creek Lake. Bridgeport is a very good location to have a home base because it is close to many good fishing lakes and streams. That is all great info buddy thanks again one day i will do a long 3 month fishing trip. I am sure if I tried that now my 3 month would quickly turn to the rest of my life as my wife would not be happy
