Does anyone know the distance from the Bernasconi Beach parking lot to the water? I have never been to the beach. Did they reconfigure the lots during the construction? Thanks..........GT

The walk is very short now considering the water level GT Smile should be no problem at all

The walk at Bernasconi is shorter than the walks we made at the boat launch the last 2 or 3 years. I made it no problem with the new hip. The parking is still in the dirt and has been expanded to a less convenient area.

How long of a walk are we talking?

The way that I figure it ... no matter the distance ... you and your new Bionic hip will have my gear to the lake's edge in no time ... lickity-split! lol! Just kidding! Ha ha ha!!

Seriously ... I am still on the disabled list and doing therapy four nights per week after being pinned to the tail gate of a backing up pick-up truck back in Feb. It may take me a bit longer than most to get all my gear down to the water's edge ... but I'l get it there.  Shocked How far??

My best guess is 400 or 500 yards, certainly not a half mile.
Here is a pic of the entrance kiosk.

Make sure you tube is dry, wet or muddy tubes will be rejected. I understand they will look at your waders too, although it has not happened to me.

So they will check you here. I was thinking of going to the main gate for inspection and then head over to the launch spot just to be on the safe side.

The rangers unlock the gate a 7:00 AM and wander off.
They will come by and check on the parking make sure you bought a sticker at the kiosk or elsewhere. The rangers will not hang around at the kiosk though and usually they just drive by and make sure all is well.

If you have not been inspected before I think it is good idea to go to the main gate and get inspected and then drive over to Bernasconi. With 30 people they may stop and check us out.

I have a inspection card from a previous visits. The ranger or gate person just looks at that card and makes sure my tube is dry and sends me away.
