I have been using the ZMan products lately specifically the need rig. I really like the elaztech plastic. It seems to be more durable then regular plastic and tend to catch 10-15 plus fish per plastic. The TRD Hogz and TRD Crawz have been the best baits on the ned rig or as a trailer on the ZMan shrooms micro finesse jig. When not using these I use the smartbaits gifted grub on the ZMan shrooms micro finesse jigs. These grubs are pretty durable as well, catching up to 12 fish on one grub. I really like the color changing of these baits. The last bait I have been using is the hook up baits. When it seems to slow down with the other baits the HUB seems to come through. The Mint and Chovy have been the colors of choice ninja fishing. Caught my PB float tube sandbass on the HUB at 3.97 pounds and 19 inches long. It was the catch of the month. Just a little review/report on what I have been using the last 6-7 times out.

I have those Z-Man baits in my tacklebox but haven’t really focused on them.
But by reading your review and your fish reports on how you had success with the Z-Man on the Ned rig ...
I think that I will dedicate one rod for using the Ned rig with the Z man Lures.
Thank you as always, for sharing Toby! Thumbs Up

Thanks Toby.
I've used the Zman products on ned rig in saltwater and freshwater. Definitely some of the most durable plastics I've used.

The elaztech doesn't play nice with other plastics though ( they melt together). Found that out the hard way.

Hey Bob,
They have a warning on all their packaging now about that. I keep them in the packaging. Luckily the Cumberland I got from Dan has big pockets so it's easy to store the baits.

My experience is quite limited, but the hook on the 1/5 oz Ned Rig seems too small (IMO). The Zman baits work well, but I use either 3/16 or 1/4 oz Owner leadheads. Spotties have big mouths.  I hook more fish with these set-ups.  But, always willing to try new methods! Just my 2 cents...

markg I like the nedlock HD hooks better than the regular nedrig heads. The hd heads have a better hook. The shroomz micro finesse jigs work great for spotties and sandbass. The hook is a little light so it tends to bend after about 5-7 fish.

I noticed that some of the short ZMan stick worms had a curve set in them, which is not preferred for a Ned rig. Anyone else have that issue?

I have the finesse TRD and they seem to be pretty straight. I know they were having issues with some.of their molds that they fixed.

Thanks. It is not as if the whole bag has bent baits so I wonder if they can take a set since they are a bit stiffer than normal plastics.
