LAH Solo Session, Sat 12-28-2019

Los Angeles Harbor (LAH) Sat 12-28-2019.  
I always like to take a few minutes before each session starts ... to calm my thoughts and to remember to give thanks to HIM![You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
For having received the blessing of good health and for this opportunity to be here today ... to be able to enjoy the water, with all of it's abundance and to take-in the breath taking sunrise of each new session .... amen![You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Only a couple of grabs for the first 1.25 hrs and then like a flip of the switch ..... at 7:45 AM I landed my skunk buster and right after I got a pair of double hook-ups and the rest of my fish.
By 8:15 AM the bite was over. All 8 fish were landed in a 30 minute period. it was a great 30 minutes indeed!  

Location: Los Angeles Harbor (LAH)
Duration: 06:30 hrs until 10:00 hrs (3.5 hrs)
Sun Rise: 06:56 hrs

Air temperatures during session: pt cloudy and breezy, with temps ranging from 48 deg to 55 deg.
Water temperatures: 57 deg at the water's surface.
Wind: 06:30 hrs 3 mph E, by 10:30 hrs 4-5 mph E.
Water clarity: translucent green.

Water Visibility: 3 ft-5 ft open water, 6-7 ft along the shorelines.

Wader Skins: I wear Wader Skins- Leggings, but not worn today.
Tackle Used: For casting: 1/4oz Sardine Green/Silver & Pearl White colored HUB's, For trolling: 5/8oz Anchovy colored HUB's.

A biting frenzy for 30 minutes, just shows you, if you had not been out there fishing you would have missed for sure.

So you are wearing basically a swim suit in 57 degree water?! I thought I was a real man at 68 going in without waders when the lake's water temp was 67. After an hour or so you start shivering, especially when it's cloudy and breezy. Nice report by the way..thanks.

I missed a lot of fishing due to being down with a painful head cold for approx two weeks and I was determined that I was going to step into the suds this weekend ... and I did.

That 30 minute window just-so-happened to occur during my planned fishing determination window. Ha ha ha!

Ya gotta do what ever it is that makes you feel comfortable and will allow you an enjoyable fishing session.

I don't shiver and am quite comfortable in these temps.

Some guys have mentioned that they wear sweat pants or thermal pants under their waders to stay warmer.

Most of the time I know where it is I'm going to fish and at other times I don't know. I'll drive until it looks right.

You didn't miss much by not joining me today ... I spent more time hunting, rather than catching.

Any time on the water is good I went out to the lab Los alamitos Bay in Saturday for the first time in 2 years I was so relaxed just kicking around the duck so peaceful and the bonus was I caught a small spotted Bay bad

That is the biggest thing about float tube fishing ... that it is so relaxing and yet fulfilling!
I refer to it as my sessions as my ... decompression time. lol
