hay guys I just wanted to let everyone know that sport chalet has waders for 25% off. I just picked up a pair of caddis deluxe breathable waders today Very Happy

hopefully I'll be hitting up the bay this week to break them in.
Also, dose anyone do special care for breathable waders to make them last longer besides hosing them off ?

dont leave them in the sun, just enough to dry and thats it. Store in a shady spot and make sure you always hose them off!!!

Thanks for the tip what Sports Chalet did you go to and how much did you pay for them out the door? I'm gonna go down and pick up a pair tomorrow if it's a good deal. However I found some Sports Chalet prices even with 25% off is MORE then some of the online shops.

The only thing I try and do with my waders is
1) rinse with warm water (usually in the shower) NO SOAP as it can clog the breathable membrane
2) hang dry for a day
3) store hanging if possible NOTE: don't hang them by the shoulder straps as this will stretch them
out. I use a hanger with clips.
4) occasionally turn them inside out and rinse the old farts out
5) once a year thoroughly wash inside and out with NIKWAX products
they are the only products I am aware of that are recommended by the manufacturers.

I am still researching the best method for safely cleaning my boat and waders after contacting waters known to have zebra mussels and quaggas. This is becoming a very big issue as the DWP, and MWD are now considering targeting tubers and tooners as well, for quarantine or restriction. Anyone have any info regarding this ?

costa mesa ? I didnt know they had one there. I know there is one off beach blvd south of the 405 but anyways I think they should. just make sure you try them on befor buying. I had to try on like 3 different pairs intill i found one that fit the best. out of box and holding them they look huge but once you try them on its a different story.

I used to get it from The Fisherman's Spot in Van Nuys or REI, but I recently saw it at Bass Pro

Lght check out Coleman.com, you'll find hodgeman outlet. They have 50% off waders but sizes are limited. Good luck

There is a Sports Chalet really close to south coast plaza going toward Santa Ana. I don't go their often, but they had a big bin of lures marked down from $8-9 to $1-2 and I picked up a lot of goodies. Picked up several spinners for a buck each.

What wadder is better hodgeman or caddis? I'm looking for a breathable without a sock so I can just use my neoprene sock with a close foot fin if possible.

all breathable waders comes with neo bottie/sock or the rubber boot.
As far as what one is better i dont know. I know they are both good companys and they have been around long time.

wtg on scoring some good baits. I didnt see any mark down bins there in brea but again I only limit amount of time to go in as I was in route to a job lol.

Actually the bins where at sports authority just around the corner. The Sports chalet in Costa Mesa doesn't even sell fishing gear. Got the 2 mixed up.

however neither even sell waders!! Looks like I'll be using the diving suit again until I find a pair.
