I say on Bob Marriots fly shop this new float tube (Buck's Bags High Adventure Roughneck U-Shaped Float Tube)

It is very cool looking and has the ability to support up to 300lbs, and has 3 separate air chambers for safety. As well as and inflatable seat and removable tackle pockets.

Just thought I would share with everyone, but the funny thing about it is this. When I went back it was off the wall and the Buck's Bag's Wed site does not list it yet. I hope they are still selling it only time will tell has anyone else seen this one yet.

That's a nice looking float tube and looks like it would sit high in the water.

It looks like a mini achilles or zodiac boat and kinda like it's made of the same stuff which would be tougher than a fishcat bladder. I'd float it!

Hey guys I was just talking to a gentalmen from Buk's Bags company and he sent us this website.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Therea are a few other views of the float tube, this is sweet. I have always liked the ODC 420 but I think I found my new dream.
But it is a far off dream as it is $400 but man what a nice tube it is.

Wow looks a lot like my prowler, but cost $100 less. I really like how they have a back cover with straps. I'm always worried something might fall out so try and not put anything back there. However I really like how my tube has 3 storage areas with zippers built into the back of the seat.

Is skadden the one with the oars? I think I looked at that one, but it was too big with the frame to fit in the back of my truck so I had to pass.

It does have oars but I want the escape model. Everyone thinks its so big but if you look at the video its not any bigger to me than a prowler and not as big as a pontoon. I really think its a great set up for the hard core tuber. Huge weight capacity and no bladders. I really like that. It's not cheap. But I say look what your getting.

Oh ya, no frame either. Inflates in 45 seconds they say. And folds down and fits in a bag.

Wow, that is a nice looking tube. It reminds me of the Avon Pro
rafts I used to use when I was a river guide or "river god" as we
jokingly were called,on the Arkansas river run through the Royal
Gorge in Colorado. That shiny grey material was TOUGH!! We did
2 to 3 runs a day, 7 days a week for about 3 months a year, mostly class III and IV and sometimes V whitewater and I never personally sprung a leak in over 6 years. We flipped em, twisted them in half in suck holes..you name it. They costs (in the 80s) around $8000.00 each for the self bailing 6-8 man models with an oar frame. My "Glory Days" LOL
I'm still waiting for my ODC420 to arrive...hopefully the 3rd if
Fed Ex tracking is accurate. I think the $159.00 sale price is
enough to keep me from having second thoughts after seeing this
beauty since it's $400.00. I guess if you have the money it would
be worth checking out. Not my case this year though. Thanks for
posting it though. Removable gear pockets is a great idea!!

Hey, has anyone heard if Buck's Bags is still producing the Roughneck? I was planning on buying one next month. I checked Buck's website and they no longer are listing it on the site. I noticed there are only a few websites that are selling the Roughneck. Also, when I checked out some other sites for feedback, the comments being made about the Roughneck are a little negative and wait and see. A few made the comment that if Buck's believes in the Roughneck, then why don't they give a 5 or 10 year warrenty on the bag instead of just 2 years. I tend to agree. Other comments made were about the design, such as a lack of "D" rings and poor placement of the inflation points. Any info, comments, or thoughts about the Roughneck? Thanks guys.

Wilderness Lite

What does it weigh? Looks very heavy. My preference is ultralight to get to wilderness lakes, and in those spots low and close to the water is best to keep from being blown all over the lake and to have lots of leg in the water to paddle efficiently. A V shaped prow is even better, which is looks like this model has.

The roughneck is NO heavier than my Prowler.
Bucks bags listed it as 16lbs
Mine is 14.5 on the scale empty
If you want Ultra light for wilderness lakes you do not want the Prowler or the Roughneck
There is not a more comfortable tube or more durable tube on the market Than the Roughneck
I have owned many since the mid 80's.
This is by FAR the Best Tube I have ever owned...and Twice as tough as my Prowler
I called Bucks Bags Before I bough. They told me the weight Limit was a Joke..it would hold 375lbs very easy
it is listed as a 300lb limit. I started fishing it at 340lb and full of gear including a Lowrance Rod racks and full tackle pockets
Floated me fine
Now that i am 295 and still losing I still Love the tube
You do sit Lower in a Roughneck. But along with the inflatable seat this is what makes it more comfortable to sit in for 5-7 hrs
Also the Inflatable seat has two Chambers The back and seat But the seat are connected so the seat back does not slide out Like the Cumberland
No Sore legs No Sore back after 7hrs on the water
If fish a lot of Afternoon in heavy wind...the Roughneck Never Disapoints
It is the BEST..Not the Lightest Just the Best Fishing Tube
