So I took a chance and ordered this Yellow float tube off amazon For the other half. I did not want to spend much Cause Quite frankly I am nor sure this hobby will stick with her and I did not want a $850 Maxxon collecting dust.

She has taken it out a couple times already and it has held up great. No real issues with it. I believe the build quality of it is pretty good. it came with quite a few smudges on the yellow tube but it is only cosmetic. It  has the issue where the U part slides in on the bar. Was thinking that putting a collar of pvc on each end would prevent it.

here are the photos and the rod holders I built for it. They are adjustable so they can pivot to different angles. I only put 2 on each side so they would not get in the way of the oars when rowing.

don't mind the paint job. I gave her the job of masking the stainless steel and fittings and she did not mask it off very well. LOL

The yellow tube and rod holders look great!

It looks like you are using the clips for the oars as an attachment point for the rod holders. Could you explain how the holders are attached a little bit?

Thanks for sharing this

Looks almost exactly like my Caddis Platinum Elite float tube except for the color ( mines orange ). Mine did the same thing as far as the stabilizer bars sliding. I fixed that by modifying some shower curtain hangers mounted on the bar. I will take pics and upload soon. Enjoy it!!

I am trying to picture that! Looking forward to your pictures.

That was purely by accident. I never intended to. but I found that it ran right over it and did not sit flush. I thought "I wonder if they will snap in there". Sure enough they popped right in. Then I was like how am I going to hold the oars now. I looked at My maxxon and was like Velcro.  So I attached a velcro strap to the pole holder pvc and wraped it around the oars. I had to flip the oars facing front so they are out of the way

the pole holder is clipped with 2 nylon straps to the upper rings in front of the bag and behind the bag. The there is 2 nylon straps with nylon clips clipping the bottom of the pole holder to the d rings under the float tube.

so in total there is 4 clips and one oar holder holding the rod holder onto the float tube.

Here ya go. I bought some shower curtain sockets from Amazon. I did have to remove some of the metal on inner portion of the socket so it fit smoothly around the stabilizer bar. Fit and finish could be better, but it is functional.

do you pop the bar on like normal and then twist the bar to lock it in place. Or do you have to pop it on right where the piece sits.

any issues with it popping out the other way?  I would not think so, since the tube always wants to go inward

If anyone is interested. Here is the link.

The price went up a bit since I bought it, but I still think it is a good deal.

Hi. Yes, pop it in like normal. Like you said, once you sit in the tube the bladders want to draw in, so there is no way they will go out the other way.

There might be better ways to achieve the same result. I liked this one Because it covers a lot of surface area and less stress on the hard rubber stabilizer bar retainer

I may toy with the idea of putting a sliced up Pvc coupling and riveting it to the bar. I like not having to worry about rust. LOL

This is a simple solution to an old problem we have seen here.

sometimes it only takes someone else's idea to help you with your own solution.

Here is what I came up with. took my all of 5 mins out of stuff I already had.

1 1/4 pvc pipe. (2 slivers) 6 stainless steel Rivets.

Did you have white rivets or did you paint?

The rivets were prepainted white. I had ordered stainless steel and the sent me stainless steel but white ones. Since I was using them for a project that contacted food I did not use them. So I am using them for other things.
