Nine legals is a great number. I have never caught nine legals in a year of fishing Newport Harbor.

Honestly ... my regular fishing area had stopped giving up fish so I relocated my recon-fishing time and efforts to learning more about the Cabrillo Beach area.

I was fishing around when I finally came upon a few of them (Hali's) in the eel grass! I just didn't know that there'd be THAT many of em' in there ... all stacked-up!!

I was also REALLY hoping to see a lot more of my fishing bud's getting-in on the "two weeks of Winter Hali bite" that I kept posting-up/sharing with everyone. Some people really got pissed at me but I still felt compelled to share with friends.

Ken, I was SKUNKED there today! NOT EVEN A BUMP! ... so I no longer deserve the honor of such a distinguished title Sir,  ... lol
