To all the Newbie's

Tell us about yourselves, where do you fish? What kind of fishing are you into (Conventional, Flyfishing or what)? What tube do you have or are you still looking?

Let us know we are curious.

I kinda feel like a newbie, I haven’t fished since June 1 and I am really looking forward to it in a few days from now in LA Harbor.

Ha ha ha well welcome back Newbie but you are far from it. When are you heading out Dan?

I’ve caught everything from Golden Trout, to 130 pound tuna. Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado. Remember catching Pike with my Grandfather in upstate NY. I had a great hunting dog. Remember sitting on shore at Flathead lake in Montana. That dog kept jumping in the water. I told her no, it will scare the fish away. I swear she attracted them. Fishing was her second favorite sport behind bird hunting. I had brought her to that little trout lake in (if I remember right) Tustin? Rented a boat. She got so excited she jumped in after a fish I had on the line. I was yelling at her; goofy dog! We really put on a show for everyone that day.
Anyways… I almost died from diabetes 25 years ago. Lost most everything I had.
Did a little fishing for meat.
Then became an OTR truck driver. One day got a call that my delivery was put off in Billings a couple days. I was coming up on Missoula. All I could think was float trip. Went on one down the Bitterroot. Decided to get back in fly fishing. Mainly for trout.
With my back injury. Can’t walk like I used to. Surprised at the hassle getting float trips on the Colorado. No problem most elsewhere. They’ll pick me up wherever. I drive out of Denver. So opportunities on lower Colorado and Eagle. Take a taxi up stream. Float back down.
I decided to get a good float tube. A Zonker. Receiving it soon. At home, most the fishing is lakes in the Black Hills. I could also float this thing down Rapid Creek if I wanted to. Could use it in salt water. I get all over. If time allows, I can fish.

Man that sounds rough over 25 years ago, but glad you are still here. Sounds like you have find in many different locations and now with a new float tube that might give you new opportunity. Again welcome to the forum and we look forward to more conversations and reports with you.
