Thanksgiving weekend LAB session

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving with family and friends.  

Got out today at Alamitos Bay with beedee and my brother Jerry.  Launched at our normal spot by the yacht club.  Beedee was out before us and already had a couple in the Marina.  Joined him and fished in there for a second before heading out in the channel.  Fishing was hit and miss but overall slow.  Beedee had 4, Jerry got 2 and lost a couple , and I must have forgot how to do it , I only got  One.  Gorgeous day out there and had a great time .  

Had some company with us.  Huge sea lion was cruising around the harbor.

As [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] said, beautiful morning out on the water. Slight offshore breeze, sun came out and the wind stayed calm for our entire session. I was on the water by 6:15 and worked my way along the wall and then into the marina. I was throwing a 4” Gulp Swim Mullet in Nuclear Chicken and a Kalin Lunker Grub in Chartreuse Hologram, 5”. My first Spottie in the marina came courtesy of the Lunker Grub. He was about 12”-13”. My largest of the day. Not much longer after that I landed another Spottie on the Gulp Swim Mullet, not small, but not big. Around 11-12” according to the measuring tape on my tray. I had two more short bites on the next retrieve but couldn’t seal the deal. The channel was calling us so we left the marina and headed out. Couple casts in and the Nuclear Chicken had summoned another Spottie, another 10-12”er. By this time we were just south of where the marina wall meets the rocks and BMF tossed his brother and I a line to tow us out deeper into the channel! This was awesome, and not even thirty seconds after I grabbed the rope I was in my 4th and final Spottie for the day. Again on the Nuclear Chicken. We drifted in with the tide, worked the middle of the channel, worked the docks a bit and then made our way back to shore after popping in the marina one last time.

It felt great to have a decent day on the water after a rough go earlier in the week. BMF and his brother are always a blast to fish with. Looking forward to meeting more of y’all next Sunday!
