Looked good with manageable wind and good tide swing
First cast broke off swim bait on spectra tip wrap
Forgot what a pain it is to restring thru micro guides on a 7’ stick

Same baby seal came zooming in from the jetty and stuck with me the whole time
Could not shake the thing

No bites

Shoulda went to fishing show

Had a sea lion last summer get ahold of a yellow fin croaker I hooked and spooled me down to the backing . Finally broke free and reeled in nothing but the head of a nice sized YFC. Kind of fun for a second thinking I was on a Marlin then realized it might be expensive refilling my reel back up.

Those baby seals are cute but they sure can be a nuisance.
It will probably be hanging around that area hunting for food for the next couple of weeks before it moves on.
Patience and perseverance is important now.

Bummer on the skunk, but dragging a little seal around couldn't hep.
Micro guides, 7 foot rod, sitting in the water, are all things that make pulling line a bigger chalenge.

Little guy has been around  for a couple weeks ever since a skiff w 4 guys posted up inside bouy line in about 10 feet of water and started chumming live bait. Lots of broken up eelgrass when they left….sheesh

I used to live in so cal. Huntington Beach last few years. Done all kinds of fishing. Did an 18 day trip out of San Diego. Got a 130 pound tuna my first time out.
There was a bait shop at the end of Beach Blvd. Guy knew he was dying when he opened it. Mentality was all for fun. These guys got into shore fishing with 2 pound line. Was complete crash and burn. Fish always won. Was a lot of fun.

Yes

My best friend worked there until the drama started when the son took over after college...it was a nice little shop and I had my first custom rod built there.

LoL we practiced tossing lead towards the street and my friend had to wait until there was no traffic...me, not so much.

The pier concession was sweet for the store.
