Dannicus, you are a ENABLER!!!!
LOL!
OK, I've been absent and not fishing for way too long. Last fall before the tube disappeared I picked one up of these boys on sale.
Today I FINALLY got it in the water.
Its a beast. Use a 7/8" to drill out where the motor mount is and 1/2" PVC slides right in. I made a PVC cart but need to rethink it. Nearly broke it going back to the car. Might just spring for a kayak cart or something.
Don't inflate the seat to the max. I partially inflate for transport but with today's trip & the altitude, the seat bottom was very firm without topping it off. Sore butt after a couple hours.
The oars work but think I'll ditch them. Cumbersome to use and just another place to wrap line.
Where the strap line for the back rest connects, that clip thing digs into my legs. Think I might just bust them free and use a carbiner instead.
Biggest complaint is the bags. Maybe I was spoiled with bags sewn directly to the tubes. These bags flop around, no way to cinch them down. They have a fabric connection on the zippers so you can operate both zippers at once. The problem is the bag tends to lean outwards. Im thinking of cutting that fabric and never use the water side zipper. Will not do to lose your tackle over the side. As for keeping the bag from sliding & flopping around, maybe glue some velcro? Time to investigate.
Oh, got a couple compliments on my tube. Think next weekend I'll head for the high mountain lakes.
OK, got to.catch up on my reading.
