Here here. I work in tandem with DFG, so, I truly understand his message. This is why 60% of my fishing hobby spend on teaching, and 40% to hang around with true anglers and continue to learn. More messages and teaching of wisdom should be pushed forward for all generations to keep our fishing habitats grand for all time, by taking proper stewards of the resources. After all, we are God's stewards.

What is your personal assessment of the DFG? What is there mission statement now? Whose interest have they got at heart? Are they at all effective?

I truly have no one statement for the DFG, since like all agencies, as well as companies, lack of manpower due to the lack of funding will render any one group inefficient, but not ineffective. Without DFG, there would not be check and balance between parties, private or governmental. However, like every group of influential powers, there are good apples that will do their best to uphold the rules. While the rotten ones will continue to tarnish the group's name. I do know the good ones, as well as the bad. I work with the good to make sure the bad get rooted out and get eliminated..but we are just the few peons that fight the group that control the mindless armies. So, be sensitive, and give the good guys the arsenal and support to do their works.

In seriousness, without DFG, we would not be fishing like we are. The dept mandates the preservation of habitats for usand the wildlife, with the requirement to provide natural games to balance out the needs for hunters to preys ratio. My hat off to them.
