Jeff I will be there.I only live ten mins from the park/ lake. What entrance are we using? I will bring a toy or two. I told wifey it was a toy drive drive for kids lol kinda forgot to tell her we would be fishing as well haha. With work and the side job going on before and after work. Had no time to fish but making time for this. Gotta give a child a smile this time of the year. Eh I might bring the wifey and my son.

$50 that's it? You don't need any type of a culinary background?

Nope none whatsoever. Just sign up for the class (don't need to take a test) and contact the promoter of the event and let them know you want to judge.

Me and a few competition teams host an amateur BBQ cooking group so I know a lot of teams and all the promoters for So-Cal if anyone is serious in joining.

FYI it's 4 categories and you judge 5-6 teams PER category and that's not including optional side categories. I usually end up with about 3-4 pounds of leftovers per comp.

The next big comp in OC is being held at Knotts Berry Farm on 12-31 and 1-1 on the picnic grounds.

Well the only class in CA scheduled for 2012 so fare is in Placerville up North (not even on the KCBS site yet). I'll post a follow up the next time they have a class closer to So Cal. The problem is they usually only have 1 class in So Cal a year and it fills up quickly.
