Ok so I bought a 10' folding porta-boat and have a small minnkota electric trolling motor to scoot it along with but was looking into getting a small gas outboard, I think it can handle about 5hp or less.

Does anyone know what types of outboards are allowed on lakes out here or is it pretty much varied lake to lake? Don't want to buy something I can't use or only use in the harbor.

Any info is much appreciated!

Go with a 4 stroke and you will have nothing to worry about. Check out west marine. My buddy picked up a nice little 2.5hp for his inflatable.

Also alot of lakes are not allowing 2 strokes anymore. DVL, skinner and I know there are others. It seems like its only county lakes. Pay to fish lakes like irvine they dont care
