There was a discussion about sonar and sounds being used in the water earlier to attract fish. Well, I believe Bass Pro has been selling the product for a while, called Hydrowave. I believe I saw a few people at Perris actually use this as they bounce up and down between the fish finder and a smaller unit, which is pretty much the same size as the Hydrowave. It then dawned on me, oh yeah..they are using the Hydrowave. Duh!

Very interesting videos that they provide too, for both salt and fresh water guys:

I'm not sponsoring this, but the technology is based on the ancient fishing approach. They actually fish near habitats that have baitfish living in dense population, and wait until the fishes start to feed before wetting their nets. Sound schemes of the fish feeding can actually be grabbed from videos and soundboards on the net, and incorporate into your iPod, smartphones, and sound players to divert sounds into the underwater speakers that you can get for about $70. Just how much power your player can push out is a whole different story. Anyone up to the mod?

I'm sure it works to some extent in the salt. Whenever I spear fished certain areas I would pick up some shells on the sea floor and lightly crack them to attrack fish.

You can actually grab a bunch of snail shells in your garden, put it in a mesh bag, and clank them in the water to attract fishes as well. It's done at Silverwood and Perris in the past by me. But, for me, that's no fun. I like the search and hunt missions.
