hey guys, i hit up mile square park a couple of times this week just to try my hand at some freshwater fishing.
i was in the south lake where dfg planted trout on tuesday. caught my first ever trout.

yeah, not that impressive but hey, i popped my trout cherry.
i caught this on a carolina rigged orange/white powerbait mouse tail. i couldn't reach the area that dfg stocked and where the trout were holding since the regulars were elbowing me out of the way so i put 2 once egg on 30lb braid, tied a swivel with a bead on a 4lb leader and just chucked the rig across the pond.
wednesday came back, fished 3 hrs with no luck. as soon as the rain started, the trout started hitting the rooster tails
i also noticed some largemouth checking out my rapala cd5 but no takes. another gent picked up a lmb on a drop shot with a pink powerbait trout worm. might be a spot to try in a few weeks for bass.
