Got intrigued with the sponsor, so, went to the site and got two sets, with 3 extra of 2.5" versions with 10 additional slip pins. Anyone tried these before?

I thinking, that these bobbers will be perfect for shallow areas of attack, using slip rigs, or better yet, defined depths using spoons/spinners/swimbaits/cranks/plastics, flies and live baits.

Jeff, did you find this sponsor by chance or the sponsor came to you?! Very interesting design, especially in a scientific and engineering stand points. Ingenious designs with a twist. I may have to up the design's progression with my own.

He found us thanks for the kind words for his product and the purchase. He is sending us some samples for us to give away so I will be working on some ideas to do this.
Let us know what you think, of the product once you get them.

Jeff, from just looking at it, there's already massive potential in the product. I'm not sure if he had discussed with anyone else in the past to heavily improve upon the design, beside the Prowler and dual fins models.

This is truly a unique product, and quite a bit of thoughts and experimentation gone into it, both for buoyancy and counter weight to enhance the "flipping" of the planer board's vectors. That takes quite a bit of research time and investment to perfect it like that. My hat off to the inventor and the collaborators. There are quite a few that resist the idea of using this due to the decrease of sensitivity loss during drags and friction in the water during retrieval. This is coming from all different hind sights ranging from scientists/engineers-anglers, to tinkering-anglers, and major pond owners. They are part right due to the line being taut most of the time, and traveling at a high angle that cannot be detected as a light bite occurred. A solid bite of any species will be easily detected. But slow-stop-switch-slow-stop retrieval method and slide rigs will allow anglers to feel the bites for sure.

If and when the design can increase the ability to not only flip, but the added sink and move forward under the coverings similar to the space bobber, that would be massively enhance the product even further. I already have the update design in mind as I tweak the product once I get it.

I'll try it out with recording videos to log the effectiveness of the bobbers for reviews. Once again, great job Jeff. Congrats the inventor for sure for his unique discovery.

Well the inventer is a member and I am sure you will hear more from him soon. He came to me for some help in marketing this product. So keep your eyes peeled for the donations we have coming. And I will let you know how we can all help him get his product on the store shelves in the future. Thumbs Up

Hey Guys,
Planing bobbers are not a new idea but this is one of the most elegant and well designed ones I have ever seen. The first designs I saw back in the 60s were large and clunky and for the most part were designed for fishing in the wind or light current rivers from shore. ( the first designs I saw were made in England for rough fish course fishing) They are absolutely killer for mini jig fishing and I would be willing to bet that they would work excellently at places like LNL and Irvine on those days when
a slow retrieve is key. I am definitely gittin me some!!

Ya I like the idea of using them with mini jigs in the shallows, just trying to figure out the possible applications.

Wow very interesting bobber I think I'm gonna pick up a few and try them out while trout fishing with flies on my spinning gear. I have had some good luck with midges and sinking flies on a bubble bobber, and pen float.

Hi Jeff and All, Just found this post.

@ TheAsianGuy,
You see the advantages and the one disadvantage quite clearly. Sensitivity to the bite is important but you can slip rig the BulletBobber so you can feel the slightest hit and let the fish run freely if you want to wait to set the hook. Anyhow, for float tubing they are great for trolling with 2 rods to find the fish. I would always cast out to the side and when they dragged straight behind me I would need to recast. The BulletBobber’s remote directional control is helpful in many ways that I believe make up for being a little oversized for small lures and baits. These diagrams are for shore fishermen but most of them also work for float tubing.
