Taco Meat Hunting and Gathering

Since I'm new to float tubing and fishing in the bays, I thought that I'd share what I do know.
That is, fishing structure from a boat using electronics to locate the spot and see if there are fish there.
Since rockfish season reopened on March 1st., myself, my cousin Bill and last minute addition, Aquaholic38, went in search of some of those great eating, shallow water rockfish.
We headed out somewhere in the Pacific Ocean at 6:30am
And we found some willing biters along with all the Sanddabs you cared to catch.
The different species of rockfish included: Bocaccio, Honeycomb Rockfish, Flag Rockfish, Starryeye Rockfish, Greenspotted Rockfish, a short Lingcod and the most desirable, Vermillion Rockfish.
The size quality wasn't as good as it could be, but we had our rockfish limits (10 per person) by 1pm.
This was Aquaholic's first time rockfishing and he said "This is called catching and not fishing"
Good to be back out fishing for something that I plan to keep!

I'm freezing some of the extra filets, and if I can make it, I plan to bring fish tacos to the Perris gathering later this month

It was awesome fishing with you guys in your fine craft!! l called this catching cuz as soon as our bait hit the floor, bang!! we cought a fish! I`ve never catch so many fish! I`ve never limit on anything! lol not very challengeing per se but very fun for sure!

looks like a lot of fun.. besides putting the fish out of their misery, why bleed them? help with taste or keeping the meat fresher?

yes, thats what i was explained, bleed them and the meat is less red, better taste. right scott?
