Maybe I am wrong but what about Elsinor Lake is the a few to launch there. It is large and I know it is tubable.

fishslayer got it on the head. Most calmed water would be Jenks, followed by Gregory, due to the canopy of trees surround the entire water. Silverwood, Big Bear, Perris, and Elsinore are wide open, and a nice breeze will make you work like you wouldn't believe.

At this point in time, Gregory is best, since tubing just opened up. $7 launch fee from the marina/boat launch. Make sure to call first to ensure someone is there to verify your launch. The launch starts around 8am I believe. I normally launch around 9am. By 1PM, you should be able to catch yourself quite a bit of panfish, trouts, and occasional huge catfish.

Jenks is $10 for parking. Launch at the flat dirt spots, and go nuts. Suggestion would be comfy waders. Bacteria level is low after all the snow melt, but if your immune system is weak due to a previous cold, allergies like me, or just a small infection, you'll be a nice immuno-suppressive attack from the bacteria remaining in the water. Jenks is great for all the isolate fish that have a chance to really grow in the past months.

good to know. i have experience the breeze at perris and unless you have a good set of fins it sucks. that is what my son-in-law found out. do you happen to know when the breeze starts to die down at perris. i always left around 4 to 5 so i wasn't sure when the wind died down.

to pin point the wind conditions and windows of opportunities in the valley, if you can provide me such info, I'll be the data center for all of you guys. Living in the I.E. for the past 20+ years, I have yet to find such predictive data. However, I do know a few things which provide you some insights:

Best time to tackle the water without moderate to heavy wind hitting you would be between 4am to 9am. Light wind will be around 8:30am. 9am to 4pm will generate odd wind gusts due to hot/cold fronts' influences. Once the temperature stabilized during the day, or after sundown, the wind gusts will also level out to calm or very light breezes. I noticed around 8 to 9pm, the wind tend to level out to very light breezes.
