Just wondering...

in particular.. pee'ing while on a long float tube session.

Even if there's a bathroom right on the water, it seems like a major PITA (Pain-In-The-A$$) to kick back to the launch area, get out, go take care of your business (and hope nobody steals your gear), and then kick back out to your area of operations.

I know some people use empty gatorade bottles and somehow get it down there inside your waders to take a piss, but that seems like it won't work for me and my waders.

Has anyone tried, or thought of, using CONDOM CATHETERS?

If you don't know what this is, it's basically a condom, but the tip has a tube attached, that you can have coming up out of your waders and either connected to a urine bag, or you can have it capped with a plug. Then, when you need to pee, just uncap the plug, put the end in your gatorade bottle, and just fire away. I've never tried these, but I hear from patients that they are not all that uncomfortable. Apparently, it's an adhesive, so one of the biggest problems is taking it off later and the adhesive getting stuck to hair (OWWW... )

But.. if that's the biggest problem, and it'll keep me out on the water longer, I'm open to giving it a try. In my job, I have access to a lot of these condom catheters, if anyone else is interested in this wacky idea.

In all seriousness, I have always wondered the same thing. Out of all the times I have asked the question I have never received a serious answer...

i just pull down my waders as far as i can and get up as high as i can on my tube and pee kinda hard at times tho

Doc, i have a pee valve for my scuba dry suit works great but for waders seems like a headache Just do what fisher does
and pee hard!! lol

That's not a bad idea. Fishing at bite is not a problem as you have the cover of darkness to hide what your doing but during the day time it sucks. I use a empty bottle and it's not all that easy.

Here's how it's done:

Take you waders down as far as you can without getting them wet.
Lean back as far as you can.
Pee as hard as you can

Some of the pee will land in the water and like 10% of it will come back on your waders....no biggie. If you don't lean back far enough the urine will come out in "squirts" and sucks really bad.

I wanna try the Gatorade bottle thing but have a bad habit of drinking it afterwards by accident. One time I was so thirsty I drank half the bottle of pee without even realizing it lol

Oh by the way im joking about drinking my pee....the real problem is getting the bottle down there in the first place. During the summer I occasionally (location depending) go out in my board shorts. That's the best...just pee wherever I want.

I don't need cover of darkness.. I'm among friends, right?
But if I need to get up in my tube to pull my waders down and whip it out to pee, I think a high chance of a few things happening... I tip and fall into the water, piss my waders, or my face, etc.

Thats why a bunch of use drink Monster with the resealable caps....finish the Monster save the can and top and you got a portable urinal!

The condom cath is a great idea I worked for an ER some years ago and always wanted to try this out. Never had the _____ to try it out though (you fill in the blank).

this is a greate idea for those concerts like OZZFEST where the bathroom is far and you dont wanna miss the band!!! run the tubing along your leg through your pants all the way to the floor

I did read the topic right lol!!! empty poweraid container I jus pull wadders down as far as I can n fill up jug then dump n the water. Only if im n deep water other wise find the shore n let it rip

my wife made a zipper in my waders as I never go in the water past my pisser. I just unzip and pee right in to that gatorade bottle you all are talking about works great.

Why don't you hardcore fishermen just use a cathiter bag like in the video? I just watch my liquid intake the morning of my floating and I hit the head prior to launch. What really scares me is there may be another thread in the near future....
