Hey Guys,
this August the DFG completed one of the most comprehensive historic studies of one of our planet's most incredible geological, and hydrological phenomena. The Sacramento Delta. There is no other delta system like it, and it is one of the planet's most diverse and (used to be ) vibrant freshwater fisheries. I have fished the Delta over a dozen times and have explored a mere fraction of it. It would take a lifetime to explore the thousands of miles of shoreline and waterways. The fishing there is, in comparison to the rest of the state (if not the country), beyond belief. If you have not fished the Delta I highly recommend you put it on your bucket list. This study is a reference point, for future policy and action to protect and improve the ecology of the remaining estuarial delta. But more than that it represents what we had, what we've lost, and what is left to protect.

The study is available on-line and can be downloaded. It is a very large file and a long read but I encourage you to read it and consider it's (the Delta's) future. As we proceed into the future, beyond the Golden State's many problems and challenges, WATER, is perhaps our greatest and most unsung.

Please spend the time and read this and consider the future of our state and it's fisheries,..... the future for our children and our sport.
