Thinking about going to the Bishop/ sierras for a couple days after Thanksgivivng. I will be bringig my tube but I may not use it, because I might be fishing rivers only. If any body knows of any lakes or resavours that are stocked and not frozen please let me know. As of now my only spots for this trip is the plesant valley resavour and the lower owens river near big pine.
Any help would be apprecited Thanks Thumbs Up

Which part of the pleasant valley resavour do you prefer? I have only fished the part near the camp grounds the side with the dam. I heard the other side near the powerplant is good too.

Upper end of PVR can be interesting but its more like river fishing than lake fishing.

I usually prefer the dam end of the lake from a float tube, just dont get to close to the cliff face unless you are wearing a helmet.

Thanks hahahhaha I will center my self in the middle of the resavour to avoid the cliffs.

Ive seen some big rocks splash into the lake on that side! I think that the ground squirrels disloge them...

Also I think that the only part of the Owens that is open year round is South of PVR, dont know if any other parts are.

There is a lot of waters that are open year round up. Lot of them are catch N release only. Barbless hooks and no bait. Check the regs. with DFG is your best bet.

East Walker River, Hot Creek and Upper Owens River are open to fishing all year round. It's catch&release from nov 16th thru april. There are special regulations during this time

Just found out that night fishing is allowed at Rock Creek Lake.
