Today's game plan was to head to the PCH bridge. I herd there have been some nice checkers being pulled from there lately.
High tide 9:37 am 4.9 ft
Low tide 3:17 pm 1.3 ft
I headed straight for the bridge trolling the DS while hitting pilings and slips with the 3 inch hammer. First fish was a micro sandy 7" at best, caught on a gulp shrimp. I continued to fish the east side of the harbor up to Sunset Marina. I got Chomped off by something nice in one of the slips but nothing special. I kicked to the west side of the channel near the fueling station. I cut a 5 in fluke in smoke in half and got another little sandy. Once I made it to the other side I tied on the margarita and worked the docs. Then tick... tick......tick.....dead stick it, BOOOM! It felt great to have a grump pulling on the end of my line again. Nice fight took some line 14"

I continued to make my way past the Simple Green building. I was hoping for some big bait action in the grass out there. I started tossing the 5 in hamemer.......nothing. I finally made it to the promise land first the DS gets bit another micro sandy. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Not the target but always welcome. I made it to directly under the bridge and start tossing my new football jig in 3/4 oz with a 3 inches of a 5 inch BH red drum as a trailer. I think it looks good send it down and my phone goes off 10:34am, awe FFFFFFFFFF. Its my manager, I am not scheduled to be there till three but the some how he's all alone and need's me to come in asap. I tell him in about 2 hrs from my truck and the waters going the other way. SO NOW THAT I AM PERFECTLY WHERE I WANT TO BE FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS I MUST LEAVE. I get some short bites on the jig but nothing sticks. Back to the margarita.....boke off on a rock  last one. The closest pattern I have is the Senorita witch is usually the hot ticket on sunny days. Tie on....fish on Â

This guy had some spunk after I got it in my lap he jumped in for a second fight! I had a couple more micro sandies on the way back to the truck 9" being the biggest. So bummed I couldn't stay in the spot. Best part when I finally made it in Early i might add some one had already showed up Whatev's I still clocked in and got some extra hours.
