In early July I took my girlfriend up fishing to a little lake up above Timpanogos Cave in the Wasatch mountains just south of Salt Lake City. We saw a guy in a float tube and got intrigued, bought a CA Cumberland and tried it out at Jordanelle Reservoir the next weekend. Haven't fished from the shore since. We bought her a Caddis tube and got in the water pretty much both weekend days from there till it got too cold in late October. We got waders, which extended our season by a couple of months. Now I don't know what to do with myself. I miss it so much. We ran all over the Wasatch mountains and the high Uintahs. It was fantastic.
I'm really enjoying this forum and reading about different techniques and tube mods. I'm hoping to build a FF and rod rack with a canopy option, as I got horribly burned a few times. I'd also like to be able to stay out in the rain a bit if there's no lightning.
I'm learning a lot and getting some great ideas. We caught tons of trout but I'm wanting to branch out a bit. LMB probably, not sure what else. We spent a few nights at local ponds catching cats.
