New ff battery sheds 4 pounds. Take that Jenny Craig!

So I finally got my new 12v 6.8ah lipo Battery to replace the 12v 5ah sal battery I was using to power my fish finder.  I went from 4 lbs 2 oz to an anorexic 14oz! Looks like i can carry more rods now!

That's insane! So where's the best place to get lipo batteries? I know they are'nt cheap.

Thank you Sir. Do they need a special charger? I've seen posts of guys talking about lipo batteries but I don't know anything about them other than they are a lot smaller and lighter than sla batteries.

Check out Hobbyking.com tons of lipos. Make sure to buy from the USA warehouse shipping is usually 2-day mail. I have a Turnigy 4cell 5000mah 20c $22. C rating does not matter for fish finders, so buy the cheaper low C packs.

You do need a good charger I use. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] $46. you can get away with some cheap wall chargers but they take good amount of charging time. Remember never to drop your cells below 3.0V per cell. 

The one I bought came with a charger. When it gets low it'll charge it overnight. Oh yeah these battery packs automatically shut off at 10.8v so you won't over drain them.

I got both of them at wallyworld. The small one is in the fishing section and the big one is in the camping section. Like $6 and $10. Sport chalet has them both too.
