Late report but here it goes,
Me and dosomedirt hit the spot last Tuesday around 5:30pm as soon as we launched and kicked a few feet i threw out a 3" lime green swim bait and i felt a thump, so I got ready to set the hook and nothing .i started to reel the line in when I felt dead weight at first I thought it was kelp but then I started to feel head shakes and that's when I realized it was a halibut, I brought it up to to the surface and it looked like a legal halibut but I also wasn't sure so I let him go, after that it was kinda slow so we moved inside towards the docks and that's when I got hit agian and this time it felt like a good sized halibut and sure enough when I saw it I knew it was legal , I grabbed my gaff and gaffed him and was rewarded with a nice halibut shower and a nice cold beer from a buddy the was watching from his house boat.i ended the day with a spottie and a sandy and Marty finally beat the skunk with a sandy just before we called it quits.
