Hey guys,
just checkin in and saying Hi! I have been extremely busy trying to keep up with work and family life. (just found out I'm gonna be a grand father!) I have not been fishing much, and my pontoon projects have been put on hold once again. So glad to see Jeff and this forum flourishing. The last Forum mag was great! Wish I could contribute more but my life is a bit upside down right now. (trying to make room in our small house for a new son in law and pending grandchild!)
Thought I would just send you guys a bit of a report I just got from a few friends who spent the weekend at Crowley fly fishing. The yearly BIG FISH bite is in full swing at the lake and 20+" fish are plenty! (nymphers need not apply!!!) Both of them had the best trips they have had in the last few years. (10 to 15, 20" fish a day with 22" fish mixed in, average weight 3-6lbs) The Big fish are on the Sac Perch fry and biting with abandon. Get up there if you can, this is the pre-amble to the fall bite. It just gets better from here on.... the fishing at Crowley has been the best in years (decades?) the last three seasons. I am convinced it is because of the extremely low water levels. I am hell bent to go the last week in Sept. and two or three more times before the season ends. This could be my year to catch my all time personal best. For those of you who are really interested please PM me and I would be happy to give you the particulars.
Once again it is great to see this forum doing so well. Kudos Jeff! and to all the members.... this is still my first, and favorite stop on the web!!!!!!!
