I'm looking into possibly getting one. But have several questions. I've PM'd Wade but have yet to get a response.

I hope some of you can help answer some of these questions.

1. How much does one of those mounts cost?
2. Does the mount for float tubes have a conversion kit for aluminum hull boats (mostly rentals). Or is that a whole separate mount than the one for float tubes?

Thanks.

Hey Wyu ,

I have a floattube Fanatics mount and used to own a ODC 420 as well and I used the Up2 Universal Low-Pro Mount and it worked great on the Tube as it just straps around your tube . (around $70-80) if i remember correctly

As far as putting that onto a Rental I think you may need a different Style mount (as most of the mounts come with a 60" Strap and Transducer mount . You may have to get the magnetic Transducer mount if you are going to move it from boat to boat and then figure out maybe a bag system that you can make it portable like the Humminbird and Garmin's portable bag system

Thanks Wes. I was hoping that there was a conversion kit so I wouldn't have to buy 2 separate mounts for both of my applications.

I like where the float tube fanatics have their transducer mounted on the tube compared to a hummingbird fishin buddy 120 with the 24 inch down rod that may snag things in the water.

Sounds like I need to start looking for a fishin buddy fish finder.

Anyone know how to get a hold of Wade from float tube fanatics? Is he on the forums much? I've PM'd him but have yet to hear from him.

He is going to send me some info for you, once I have it I will pass it along. He is a one man show out there and getting ready to do some fishing shows so he is away from his home (office) but once I have the info I will pass it along to you. He said once he gets home he will get back to you as well, but might be faster if he send me the info through e-mail for now.

Hey Jeff

Wanted to asked if Wade offers any discounts on his mounts for FTFF members? And curious to know if you've heard back from him if he offers a conversion kit.

Thanks

They are two completely different mounting systems. I have the strap mounted one for my Scadden Renegade pontoon, and the magnetic mount for my small aluminum boat. They both work great, but yeah for your purposes you do need to spend more money to get both mounts.

Hi Wyu, sorry I'm so late to the party! I don't think I have the PMs set to notify me on email, so I will have to fix that. Okay, so here's some answers, and again, sorry for the long delay Wyu:

1) If you have a newer fishin buddy, it could be used, but you'd have to buy a new replacement transducer that would take the place of the puck version in the pole assembly. I would

2) The boat mount can be used also as a tube mount too. How is this done? You would purchase the boat mount kit, and then add a float tube transducer mount. The two links are here:

We can also offer you 5% off since you are a part of the forum. Just make sure to mention the forum and your user ID when/after you place your order via email. We will send you a 5% rebate against your original purchase transaction shortly after your order is placed.

I hope this helps you Wyu. The best way to get a hold of me usually is to just email me at: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
