Friend of mine hits me up at 7am to tube NPH in the AM. Sends pics of what he's caught so far. I dont see the text til 11am (DOH!).
His catches:

I head out and am in the water by 130ish. Went fishing docks as we drifted with the current for no luck. I push out a bit and decide to troll a 3 inch Hammer in halloween color with a red lead head. BOOM! Sand bass on! I get it to the tube and, like an idiot, I pull it up by the line instead of using my net. Sure enough it snaps the line. Fish and lure gone. Looked to be a 1.5 #'er. No pics, obviously.
Continue to drift past the ferry and work the structure to no avail. Tried an anchovie colored rapala x-rap and a blue shad Hammer on a chartruse jig head for nothing. Swapped out to a christmas MC on a red jig head and get a dink in the pic below.
