Solo Session in LAB, Sat 12-8-2018.
(This was my 62th Float Tube session for the 2018 Season).

I always like to take a few minutes before each session to calm my thoughts and to remember to give thanks; for being so BLESSED to have my health and for this opportunity of being able to be here today ... enjoying the water, all of it's abundance and to take-in the breath taking sunrise of each morning .... amen!

Session Summary:
I had planned on fishing at LAH this morning but they had "No Parking" signs posted on delineators stating "no-parking allowed" between "6:00 AM until 10:00 AM".
DANG!! It was time for me to re-group! I decided to head over to somewhere at LAB???

I drove all-over LAB until I finally settled on fishing Bay Shore Ave. The weather was perfect, clear and the air was a chilly 48 degrees on the water and it eventually warmed-up to 62 degrees with lots of bright sunshine, the water conditions were experiencing an in-coming tide but where I was fishing it was behaving more like an outgoing tide ... lots of moving debris and floating trash ... the fishing on the other hand was still so-so after having that huge storm front roll through us on Thursday ... but it was still lots of fun.
I just had to hunt them a bit harder in order to locate them! And I did find them!  Thumbs Up

Location: Los Alamitos Bay (LAB)
Duration: 06:30 hrs until 10:30 hrs (4 hrs)
Sun Rise: 06:45 hrs,
Sun Set: 16:44 hrs, the days are still getting shorter as each new day arrives.
Moon Phase: Waxing Crescent
Gray Light: 05:55 hrs.
Tidal Conditions: 06:00 hrs 4.2 ft, 07:00 hrs 5.2 ft, 08:00 hrs 5.9 ft, 08:57 hrs HT 6.2 ft, 10:00 hrs 5.8 ft , 11:00 hrs 4.9 ft ... etc.
Air temperatures: clear sky's with temps from 48 deg to 62 deg.
Check this out ... palm trees and snow capped mountains in the back ground ... livin' the SoCal dream!  Thumbs Up

Water temperatures:  55 deg
Wind: 06:00 hrs 1-2 mph NNW, 12:00 hrs 4 mph WNW.
Water clarity: translucent green
Large Leaf Kelp Beds: none to report
Water Visibility: 3 - 5 ft
Tidal Coefficient: (CE) 80 in the morning, this is a higher average stable rate.
iSolunar Prediction: Minor Period: 07:07 hrs until 08:37 hrs.
(4 out of 4 possible) <"))>< <"))>< <"))>< <"))><
Sea Dogs: none to report

Distance kicked: .66 miles.
Calories Burnt: 484 calories
Tackle Used: 1/4oz Sardine Green/Silver & Whitw Shad, 3/8oz Sardine Green/Silver colored HUB's

SP Dan's fish count this morning: 26-fish, 5-species, 2-legals to report today.

(4) short Sandy's, best 13 1/2"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(18) Spotty's, best 14", 14 1/4" LEGALS
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(2) short Halibut, best 12 1/2"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(1) Jack Smelt 13"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(1) Greenback Mackerel
(no pic) Had it landed on my lap-tray, it shook like a vibrator shaking the hook free ... and over the edge it went while I was trying to take it's photo.
The only lasting image of it; in my mind, was the hook that it shook had stuck me in the left thumb! Those fish are a pain to handle!

Note: All legals shown, but just one pic of each species landed if short and all fish were quickly CPR'd.

PLEASE ... always leave it cleaner than you found it!
So please grab a hand-full and Pitch-In!!

And an added picture for our talented DIY pour guy's!

Octopus! ... good luck on matching this one, have fun! Thumbs Up

Thank you for taking the time to check out today's fish report!

Great job Dan looks like it was another great trip.  I really like the fishfinder screen I think that tells the story best.

Thanx Jeff,
I luv my Deeper Pro+ FF, at just 3.4 oz ... ya can't beat-it!
It records for 6+ hours and it's smaller than a tennis ball.
