Solo Session this morning, Wed 12-26-2018.
This was my 70th Float Tube session for the 2018 Season.
I always like to take a few minutes before each session to calm my thoughts and to remember to give thanks, for being so BLESSED for having such good health and for this opportunity of being here today ... enjoying the water, all of it's abundance and to take-in the breath taking sunrise of each morning's session .... amen![You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Location: Los Angeles Harbor (LAH) San Pedro
Duration: 07:00 hrs until 11:30 hrs (4.5 hrs)
Sun Rise: 06:56 hrs
Sun Set: 16:51 hrs, the days are starting to get a bit longer as each new day arrives.
Personal Attire: board shorts
Moon Phase: Waning Gibbous

Tidal Conditions: KING TIDE fading out, 07:00 hrs 3.1 ft, 08:00 hrs 3.8 ft, 09:00 4.7 ft, 10:00 hrs 5.4 ft, 11:15 hrs HT 5.7 ft, 12:00 hrs 5.6 ft ... 18:37 hrs LT -0.5 ft ... etc. That's a 6.2 ft drop on the draining tide.

Water Visibility: 7 - 10 ft
Tidal Coefficient: Dropping ... (CE) 81in the morning, this is a still a high average and considered a stable rate.

At 09:00 hrs my rod went full wood BENDO and it took every bit of 10 minutes to land this heavy bruiser after many heavy line rippin' reel smoking runs!

It's throat was so deep that I couldn't use my 9" forceps; to reach down into it's mouth, to retrieve my HUB without partially putting my hand inside it's mouth (teeth) and possibly getting CHOMPED (take another look at those teeth!!) ...so I ended up doing the Out Patient surgery thru it's gill plates while watching what I was doing as I was looking down thru it's mouth and throat! The surgery was a HUGE success folk's!!
Note: All legals shown, but just one pic of each species landed if short and all fish were quickly CPR'd.
PLEASE .... always be completely respectful to the boat owners and their property ... their boats.
PLEASE ... always leave it cleaner than you found it!
