So no one is new to the T-Rig right? Most people fish it just fine I imagine. But has anyone had a problem with a good hook set and landing your fish? In the past I was having trouble. It was getting me down. I would get the strike...set the hook and reel in. But the fish kept coming off! I would make sure my hook was sharp and question my technique etc and it was really making me crazy. So I was in Bob's tackle in Norwalk and I'm talking about this to the owner. He says he was in a tournament recently and went most of the day with the same problem. Then he figured out what was happening. The hooks he used were too thin a wire and literally flexing and allowing the fish to shake it out. He suggested I beef up my hook choices. Which I did. The next day I fished MVL with guys and except for my first fish on a top water, all my fish were on the T-Rig on the beefy hook. They weren't big fish but my confidence had been restored! I fished HB last night all on the same rig and landed almost every strike!
So I guess my point is, in fishing it can be the little things that make the difference in your confidence...and your fish count.
I just thought I would share it with you.
Thanks for looking.
