Area fished: The Sail Cove

Air temp: 65 to 82
Water Temp. 78 to 80
Water Clarity: 10 feet and clear
Depth: 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM

4#  Wackem Mini Splitz Orange Justice
6#  Split shot various 4 inch worms
8#  Zoom Fluke Stick Watermelon Split Shot
10# Rapala CD Silver Black
15# 1/2 ounce Football Jig

I got a chance for a quick session Friday morning and launched from Sail Cove again and zig zagged about to deeper waters. I had planned on working shallower, but a group of youngsters showed up had music on so loud the ground was shaking. Lake Perris gets crowded on the weekends. So I backed up and mainly worked the 30 to 60 foot range on structure that was previously shoreline and weed beds while listening to their music some 300 yards away. I bounced my jig until I found this guy 54 feet down.

3.89 pounds and no length measurement. I guess 17 or 18 inches and pretty chubby.

30 pound braid to 15 pound fluoro and this is the deepest bass I have caught at Perris.

It’s always nice to be able to have that unplanned session and then to have the fish cooperate as well.
I hope that the free supplied entertainment was the type of music that you enjoy listening to.
That’s a nice looking fish that you got there Jerdon! Thumbs Up

Nice fish Jerdon. At that weight he's at least 19".

Do you have wheels for your toon? Powercove ramp is closed during the week so it's nice to walk in there and launch from the ramp. It's pretty quiet back there when the ramp is closed just like old times.

Dan, Jeff,
The music reminded me of when my two boys were still living at home, I wanted to yell "pull up your pants and turn that crappy music down!!" Good times... And thanks about the fish.

Bugger,
Good to here from you brother. Yes, I have wheels and have made the trek across lot 11 with them a few times. I am surprised at the lack of bass in those trees immediately east of the launch. I have much more luck going deeper 30 to 40 feet now.
