So I am looking for some info and ideas from everyone here. I currently use Frogg Togg Wader pants which I have had for the last 3 years. They do lose the ability to keep all the water our after a while which is kind of normal. I can fix or repair the leaks in time. However, I am looking to change things up a little.
I am looking to ditch the waders and move over to something new. YES, I could just do shorts but I just don't feel comfortable doing this. I am looking at some different options and am wondering what you guys are doing in this realm. I assume that if I where to go with waterproof pants that I would get a little wet and really that is not an issue. I do assume I will be getting a pair of wader boots as well. I am hoping to find a system that keeps me mainly dry knowing my feet and lower legs will keep wet. MOre inportantly I am looking to have something that lasts me longer than a few years. What do you guys use is there any different ideas out there that I should know about.

Purchase Simm’s waders.

They come with a lifetime warranty.

They’ll be the last pair of waders that you’ll ever have to buy and are built better than anything you’ve ever worn.

I own 2 pairs of G-4’s, (1) Sock-foot and (1) boot-foot.

You get what you pay for.

From my personal experience and the research that I've done I feel you're better off getting a middle of the road new pair of waders every 3-4 years. Normal use causes the material to break down regardless of who makes it , how expensive or marketing claims. I recently cut up an older pair of rubber/neoprene utility boots  to use for the fall/early spring. when the water is not 40-50 degrees. Far and away the best option (for me anyways) are water shoes. Their incredibly lightweight, the decent ones have nice soles to protect the bottom of your feet and depending how warm it is they dry out incredibly fast.

If you are looking to spend some dough though Simms makes a very nice wader. Also if you're going for chest Style the zipper front seems like it would be super beneficial

I like the zipper fronts very much, but I don't need chest-high anymore. I also wish I could afford Simms waders I am sure they are great.

Just picked up a pair of hellbenders on Amazon for $85 iirc. I got to say they are very nice for the price paid

I lucked out. I will be receiving a free pair of custom made waders from Redington. My brother in law's younger brother whom I used to take snowboarding with me when he was a kid got a job in the r&d Dept. I just happened to mention to him about going through 3 pairs of waders in one year float tube fishing several days a week. He said that they're going to hook me up with something I just have to report back in a few months my thoughts. So maybe we'll get lucky and they'll gear a line specific for float tubing.

Wow, keep us posted on the R&D waders. I just had to send my Orvis back for repair. Didn't even get a year out of them. Might need to go with Simms. Do you recommend the very top of the line version or all of their waders awesome? Thanks!

Personally I haven't had a pair of waders last more than a few months. So I won't recommend anything at the moment. I know Simms does have a great lifetime warranty though. Pretty fair about it too from what I've heard.
