Fishcat 4 foam seat

This is my first post to the forum.

I just got my first float tube, a Fishcat 4 with the foam seat cushions. Are there any tips or tricks for getting the cushions in the seat pocket? I watched the Outcast video and it showed a guy about 30 years younger and 100 pounds heavier than me pounding them in place with his fist. Can I just cut 1/4 inch off the pad with the bandsaw?

First off, welcome to the forum Frank.

I can't help you with putting the seat foam in, but I am sure someone will come along soon enough.

Maybe the procedure is get it in once and leave it

My thoughts on the Styrofoam seat pads install:

I would not trim the foam, they were engineer designed.
They are designed to be the tight perfect fit.

I’ve taken my styrofoam seat cushions out, cleaned them and have put them back-in at least three or four times now.
You can do it.

Yes ... they are tight, but they will go in.
