Newport Bay 4/16/20

beautiful morning, we got 8 fish, myself 6, asher 2 and the only legal. i started dipping my own tubes and they caught fish

nope, im heading to desert tomorrow for a week. heard the bass are going off in the lower owens river, its a great 4x4 offroad trail 20 minutes away from where we will be. lol dont own any fresh water stuff so taking a bnm rod and spinning reel i'll do the best i can. asher i set up with my extra sharpshooter and showed him the basics of shooting docks, he was doing ok by end of session.

That sounds like a nice distraction and a lot of fun.

The BNM 4-8 LB rod will do great, just change out your leader#.

I have (2) Kencore trout rods and I reely luv em!
I understand they don’t make Kencore rods anymore.

So, on my last trip up to Big Bear Lake, I took my 6’ BNM rods float tube fishing with me and I luved it on landing the SMB, LMB and Trout. Great fights!

Trout change to: 4-6 lb co-polymer, 8 LB will work!
I believe that GT would be a good source to tap into.

Bass: I’d fish 12-15 lb.
I believe that David would be a good source to tap into.

yup just bass, if i trout fish i get out my fly rods and flies, hour drive to trout but season opens on friday,  dont want to fish the opening. may head back up and fish trout in next few weeks

looking forward to the fishing, shooting, off roading, 100% alone, we normally dont see 1 person in a week there. caves and mines to explore. but the fossils and gem stones i know in the area always make the trip. i'll send pics its a remote place with cell service.
