I purchased this mount.

it was meant to be screwed on, but I glued it.

seems really secure.

I think I will still attach the loop on the top to the float tube just in case.

a question for anybody who has one.

does the Deeper unit need to be just on the surface of the water and will it hurt anything if I mount it completely under water a few inches. I think I like it down under the float tube rather than out away from the float tube.

I like it! Thumbs Up

I just tether mine on a string.
It works either way. Great job!

OK.

so the seller did not send instructions. I assumed the I needed to tighten the Allen heads till to a fixed position where I wanted it.  after tightening them down and it still pivoting. I sent the seller a question.

He told me it is designed to pivot and the Deeper unit just floats and the arms pivot up and down as it floats in the water.

SP Dan   does your deeper unit when you are moving with the string on it rock side to side when a wave comes, if yes does it throw off the sonar.  That was my main concern.

I know this mount will prevent the side to side from a wave as the arme will keep the unit straight up and down. But with a string I could see it rocking.

anyways. Here is the ebay listing if anyone was interested in the mount.

The DP+ is purposefully bottom-heavy by design with the sole intent of it being constantly cast-out into the water; hundreds-of-feet, and read from your hand held device as you recon FF the areas ahead of you.

The DP+ FF will work perfectly whether tethered on a string or on their expensive arm with pretty much the exact same results.

I’m now on my 2nd DP+ (friend, $40 used) in the last 4.75 years and have no issues with their FF or my catching fish.

Lol and besides ... I only use it to read the bottom for it’s contours and structures ... and then I turn it off and put it away in the cup holder. The perfect fit! 👌.

I find that most fishfinders normally give me a “history“ lesson as the fish on the FF screen has just swam past in some unknown direction. lol

I just need to know that there is life down there and I will do the rest. lol I will become “the fish finder.” lol

Good fishing and tight lines.
I really do like your DIY attachment for your DP+ arm! 👍

Thank you for sharing your ideas!

PS ..... DUDE! I see that you are in Medford, Oregon.
I lived in Grants Pass for 13 years 1974-1987.
I miss Oregon.

I used to have the Deeper Pro anf used a string to attach it. After fishing when you look at your chart path online it shows the Deeper Pro twisting and turning but it does not affect the contours or path. I think the holder you have will be great!

Good luck
