So it has been brought to me a small handful of times now, can I ask questions on how to approach my local lake on allowing float tubes. Recently I found out that a local lake to me (well no so local but worth the drive) opened to float tube fishing for the first time. This would be lake Hemet, which a lot of people are excited about. So the question is how do we convince other lakes to do what Lake Hemet just did.
So I guess that leads to a few questions.
1. What lakes near you are not open to float tubes.
2. Have you had lakes near you close to float tubes and why.
My hope is we can first build a list of float tube excepting water ways as well as a list of water ways that don't allow float tube. We promote this water ways that allow float tubes and we begin to build conversation with those water ways that don't allow float tubes.
We could strive to build a templet that would help people in there areas to know who to reach out to in order to have conversation about opening those waters. We could also build a list of past conversations that helped to open water ways to our sport. This would give people the tools needed to help promote float tube fishing on those closed waters and in turn hopefully open up some more closed waters.
This is just a thought but I think we has a group can have some influence that could help others. What do you think and do you have anything to add.
