So, the socal bay series we have to weight the fish alive at the end of the turney. how are you guys keeping your fish alive till the weighting with out hurting them? I red in a book that if we wipe the slime off the skin, the fish will die. (use of nets) Any ideas?

5gal bucket with holes drilled in it and a lid. Zip tie it to your tube and your good to go lol.

Well that's one way but I have a different idea that I'm working on but I can't tell just yet

well this is what I got so far. How long you guys think I can run that 800 GPH belge pump on a car battery?
I`m getting a timed swich that i will program to work for 15 seconds and rest 60, it cycles.
tomorrow I`m getting the fittings for the tank hoses, and cut a lid and make it self closing. The tank is 2 feet long by 15 wide.

Just a few things I notice about your design...

I think that the 800gph is a bit much and may end up killing the fish. That is exchanging water at a rate of 13 gallons per minute which in a closed area might be to much for the fish in the well.

I would just run an areator in the well insteas of the of the bilge pump. It will use less power and be alot easier on the fish.

Next thing is the weight you are adding on the yak. Saltwater weighs 8.556 lbs per gallon so if that well is let say 5 gallons you are adding almost 43 lbs to the end of your yak. Just make sure you compensate for the extra weight.

Looks good so far but I would install a ball valve do you can control to water flow and swap out the car battery for something with less weight. Car battery weights a good 60lbs or more

Hey Eddie, I don't know much about this stuff but I saw this and it
seems similar to what your doing. Guy seems to know what he's doing.
You can be the judge of that

Very handy work in that video!
The only thing that I wouldn't do is to use the valve to slow down the flow.
It will introduce back pressure and work the pump harder causing it to draw more juice and possibly shortening it's life.
I would add a "T" inline with a valve that you can open to bleed off the excess unwanted water.
Nice find Waxon!
