Basically I want to hear your opinion on which float tube to get under $200. I understand that I need fins, PFD, waders... Would it be smart to invest $300 for a float tube or is $200 a reasonable amount?

Thanks, I value your opinion.

Look at a used tube, like this.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Nav II's are good tubes. built for big guys, they have a cap. of over 300 lbs, yet work for smaller guys too. Sonarbp has 2 or 3 of these tubes. If you want to sit higher off the water a fishcat would be the way to go.

Another .. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Fishcat.. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The fishcat was listed in Feb, so it may be sold.

My opinion is choose whatever watercraft you want from bass pro shops online then call in your order and tell the BPS operator that is helping you that you want to do the 6 month payment plan..its always available.. they will break the payments down and bill your atm card every month for 6 months.. thats how I got my fish cat waders fins etc.... it came out to 60 per month hope that helps

I just finished this thought process... I felt compelled to go less on the boat, because I realized all the other expenses that were all necessities. Not just things I could buy later along the way. I also decided to put the money I saved by going with a less expensive float tube towards a bit higher quality on my waders and fins. Two items that I figured are crucial to my comfort and mobility. On the other hand, I reasoned that the actual performance between the 2 float tubes would probably be comparable, or even identical.

I'm sure there are smokin' deals out there on used float tubes. I just feel like I want to start with a brand new bladder. I'd be worried that I'm buying somebody's half-ass patch job. Good luck in your hunt. -Jay

Go to sport challet they have them there for around 100 fins are about another fifty perfect starting kit. Unless u wanna spend more u can its one of those hobbies budget and catch fish or splurge and catch fish. Being from murrieta lake perris is probally ur closest lake unless u plan on fishing the pay lakes like corona. Lakes and other similar places

thats not a bad option at all, by doing that you can always get your self a better tube, waders and fins as long as the monthy payments are with in your range

I have the Nav II. It's a good ride but you are lower in the water and not as hydrodynamic as you would be on other designs. I tell you right now if I was going to drop 200 bones on a new tube it would be the Cumberland hands down.

Well I do sit lower in the water on my NAV II but not that much lower! As for being not as hydrodynamic...that is a two edge sword! I can move just as fast as in my NAV II as most guys in a "V" style tube and I dont get blown around as easy.

The NAV II is a great tube but if you are a smaller guy there are alot of other choices out there for you.

i would get that cover bonanza tube for $49 then go to wally world and get some snorkling fins for $20 or get the fins that go over the waders there about 50 i think and some waders for around $100 then spend the other money on fishin stuff
