Cinco de Mayo Jungle Basstravaganza 5/5/2012

Decided to do a jungle run last minute and send out an invite to some toobing buddies, my lil bro, John, Alfredo, and last minute confirmation from my buddy Johnny! It was on! Told the boys to meet me at my place at 5am sharp, 4:45 I get a text from Alfredo "I'm outside" LOL! He was pumped! two minutes later John and Johnny show up, loaded our gear and off we went.

Gave the newcomers the rundown on the spot while driving and arrived shortly. Set the tubes up and launched right at 6am. Not even 5 minutes on the water and Johnny hooks up with a pencil barracuda! Right on! I knew right then and there it was going to be one of those days. The water is warming up and the fish are starting to play. Decided to make it a bit interesting and did a $5 bet, biggest fish takeas all. Well we know who won!


Once we are in the right spot, all five of us go instant bendo! I really wish I could have gotten that on camera! Dammit! for the first 1.5 hours it was non stop retarded bass fishing! Caught about 7 different species today and a nice surprise on the way out!

Today was an easy 100 fish day between the five of us and the oh so many break offs leaves us already planning the next outing and new strategies.

John had about two crazy ass breakoffs that I wish I could have gotten on film, gotta love that Custom P704 Shikari rod that went completely bendo, I mean a parabolic bendo! almost a complete circle!

Ok, enough rambling, everyone went home with some taco meet to feed 5 families and once special guy went home with steaks! Alfredo, I'm sure you got a nice warm welcome from the concrete jungle, until next time!

Oh, and I got my lure back from that sandy after some minor surgery lol

The cooler is smaller than it looks and the halibut took up most of the space

Highlight of the day was when I had to abandon ship due to nature and the ship almost abandoned me lol
