Hey guys, thanks for the reports and
pictures. I'm really plesantly surprized! I was the one that posted
(when you mentioned you were going there),that I was somewhat familiar
with Puddingstone because back in the
early 80s I lived near there and a local gal used to take me there sunbathing. There were so many speedboats going in circles they had the lake "Frothed" up with this multi- colored froth that looked...well..gross and I said to myself I would never fish there. There
is evidentily other "calmer ares on that lake I didn't see. Some of the
backgrounds to your pictures look quite beautiful, so once again,I stand corrected! And since you are getting some bass there has to be some lunkers in there so just keep at it. You may want to try some larger baits, maybe some crankbaits or even some spinnerbaits and see if you can get some sizable fish! Just a suggestion! The Purple worm is good for getting a feeding bite but if you can trigger some "reaction" bites the big ones might come out of the closet so to speak! Spinnerbaits are good for that! And you can reel them in just as fast as your gear will go and thus, cover a lot of water in a shorter period of time. It's proven that when bass do a reaction strike they can exceed speeds of 20 miles an hour. I don't know anyone who can reel that fast!! I watch the pros on tv and they reel like mad in those tournements! Plus that water looks heavily stained or "muddy" so a large bright spinnerbait will create a vibration that triggers a reaction strike even when they can't see it! And load up on the scents and gels from some of our sponsers and you'll get the smell thing going too!! If you already know all this stuff just ignore and forgive me,but if these tips are new to you, please give them a try! Tight Lines and safe tubing!
