Do you loose any performance on a two piece rod?

The reason I ask is that as I am slowly getting more serious about my rods, I want to avoid breaking them in a door hinge or truck bed. I feel that a two piece rod might be easier to transport and store.

Any thoughts?

Not at all Patrick. The rod manufactures have created some very precise and thought out blanks that are multi-pieced. They are really considered travel rods, having the convinience of breaking them down and taking them wherever you need in an easier way.

I've built up to a four piece rod and they are just are durable and or sensible as a one piece rod. It's all about personal preference and the actual application of the intended use of the rod. Like a surf rod, they go up to 15' in length, try putting that bad boy in you car! LOL

Dependant on the circumference of the rod when dismantled 75mm PVC pipe is your best friend. My wife has destroyed countless rod tips in the tail gate of our car irregardless of the number of pieces and I don't even have to be there to get the blame. She works on the assumption of "your(me) rod, your fault"

u start losing sensitivity when u go to 2 piece rods one piece you will have the most sensitivity there are good 2 peice rods out there tho and there starting to make those one peice telscoping rods to if your gettin serious about fishing then i would get the stuff so u will be happier with in the long run
