Depending what you're chasing right now. Bass are lighting in both in the shallows and moderate deep. Use the main entrance, head to Parking Lots 11 & 12. Launch tube as early as possible from the isolated ramp. Head out to the southern side of east end , where bluegill beds are still active, feeding off the massive insects activities. While kicking out, use watermelon-flake senko to troll slowly near the bottom. Cast crank with snow jittery retrieve at the same time. A spinner will also wake up the prowlers near the shallow/drop-off area.

Warning, catfishes are also on the prowl at that east end. Same with carps. They will make sure your rods are at the Davy Jone's locker.

the grass is insane there right now... thick weeds as tall as 15 ft as of monday when I was there last and the weedline extends pretty far out from shore right now bring weedless your senko will probably be your best friend unless you can find some deep structure which might be your best bet. good luck out there report back how it goes

Indeed. Bass population is abundant there. The problem is, those who chase after bass have a wrong impression that they should all be caught and released. The larger ones between the 18" and larger weighing in at 3lbs and more, yes, they should all be released. Anything between 15" to 17.5", harvest them, and eat them. Yes..eat them. The larger ones will control the other species population. The smaller ones will eaten up by larger apex predation species (striper, kitty, even carp), or will be chasing down small species like bluegill very aggressively in order to feed and grow.

Kitties, like bullheads, channel cats, they need to be harvested as much as possible. There's no limit on bullheads. They are all over the place, ugly, and best of all, they taste great as beer battered frys. Only 2% of the anglers target them. They are freaking hell fun to catch, and the 3lbs size will fight 3 times harder than the 12lbs bass for a lot longer.

Grass carps, try to eat the small ones, use them as fertilizer, or toss them outside away from the lake's perimeter. Leave the larger ones behind to control the weeds and algae.

They need to plant tilapia in there too. Then all hell will break loose.
